The email direct's them to a fake login page which easily mimicks the original page as it is easy to copy the original page of a website by using it's HTML code...
For eg
In 2003 there was a scam that sent email's to people claiming that they needed to re enter their credit card information for e-bay otherwise their e-bay account would be de-activated.This e-mail took them to a fake login page and scammed lots of user's into submitting vital credit card information and spoofed a lot of user's.
Considered illegal, It is a sick way of getting private information of users......
